From the LA Times, October 22, 2023 opinion by Tom ZOELLNER
We love our visitors. They pay most of the bills to operate and fund the city (77%of city funding)..from police to new roads... and keeps Sedona from needing a city property tax...but we do have a new paradigm to manage, don't we..
A new reality for many in the lodging business.. shortage of workers has changed services offered..
Sedona is not alone. The city or chamber did not do this...the pandemic is the prime contributor to such an increase in visitors seeking outdoor adventure.. hopefully, time will somewhat cure this over-use of outdoor destinations... Summer is already showing a slowing of tourism, especially when compared to last 2020 summer.
Did you know that a design is almost complete for a new pedestrian crossing under SR 179 on Oak Creek?
